OUR HISTORY
Longmoor Farm was established almost 300 years ago in 1727 as a working sheep and cattle farm. The farm hosted a number of visitors over this time including the English romantic poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge who used to stay at the farm on his way to see fellow Lakeland poet Wordsworth living in the nearby town of Cockermouth.
The main elements of Farm were acquired by the Calvin family in 1986 and has been in the family ever since. The current owners Roy and Sara Calvin took on the conversion of the main stable block into the ‘Stables’ property in 2008 and then acquired the Nook in 2021.
